A United Airways flight to São Paulo, Brazil, was compelled to show round and make an emergency touchdown at Newark-Liberty Worldwide Airport early Thursday morning, the airline confirmed.

The flight was scheduled to depart Newark Liberty Worldwide Airport at 10:55 p.m. Wednesday, a press release from an airport spokesperson mentioned. 

There have been no reported accidents or impacts to flight operations.

Current journey hassles and airline cancellations could have been heightened this week as United Airways canceled about 18 flights.

Some United planes had been pulled from service when the provider realized that a few of its Boeing 777-200 plane had not undergone required inspections of the entrance edges of the wings.
